“ Still excellent Texas BBQ with lots of choices. As everywhere prices have increased but the quality and quantity were still there. We each could only eat 1/2 sandwich due to the large quantity of fresh turkey carved as we watched. Service was fast and interior of the restaurant was clean and tables stocked properly. We both ordered turkey Po-boys, one with coleslaw and one with fries. Fries were being made so they gave us a number placard and brought out a large basket of fresh hot crinkle fries to our table. Had to wait for them to cool off to eat. Not over-salted like so many other restaurants. Service bar was fully stocked with all condiments and sauces and no spills or dropped food on the counters. Dill pickle chips are great, with just enough vinegar to offset the sugar in the sauce. Turkey breast was moist and tender. No charge for take out containers to bring our leftovers home. Will be back. ”

“ One of the few places around to get cafeteria style dining. I ordered the brisket sandwich with beans. The brisket was a little dry but still flavorful. Really enjoyed the beans. Service was quick since its cafeteria line. Not bad for BBQ in the PNW. ”

“ August 18th was a beautiful day and a day off where I did not want to cook. I was visiting a friend around the corner so we decided to order take out from Busters. It had been over a year, or it seems, since I had dropped by for dinner and as I walked in the familiar scent of smokey goodness filled the air. I ordered a pound of brisket, 1/2 a pound of mild sausage, a huge order of bbq beans, mashed potatoes and gravy to go. The service was excellent and they made sure to include utensils, bbq sauce, napkins and extras. Even going so far as to tape the bbq bean container shut in case it tipped during my drive, which it did. But no spills! I won't wait another year until I stop by again! The food was hot and plentiful and the brisket was juicy and delicious. Not too Smokey, not too salty and not too spicy. Just the perfect blend and those boys know their way around a smoker! ”

“ We're not in Texas, but gosh darn it, it feels like Texas all up in here. Don't think I can find another bbq restaurant in Portland that has that Texas feel quite like Buster's BBQ. The meat are all done to my liking. The chicken is juicy, not dry, skin is seasoned liberally. Brisket are not too fatty, but tender and flakes like it's been sitting in the smoker for hours and hours. Also, not too salty. Perfect smokey profile. The hot links are just hot links, but it really hit the spot for me. The sides - I chose mash potatoes and Mac and cheese. These were nothing to write home about. For a bbq staple in the Portland area, I think this place delivers, especially since they're a chain that has been around for so long. ”

“ Came here with my siblings and was pleasantly surprised! We always pass by Busters and finally decided to give it a try. It is a cafeteria style restaurant where you grab a tray and utensils and let them know which entree and sides you'd like. Staff was friendly and had our food prepared very quickly I decided on the brisket sandwich and the bbq beans. Holy smokes the brisket was sooo yummy! It was so tender and flavorful. I agree with other reviewers that the sides are not very great, my beans were okay and had small pieces of bacon and ground beef. My siblings really enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich also but what we really loved was the fixings bar. They have bbq sauce, pickles, cucumbers, onions, and more. My fave bbq sauce was the chipotle mustard ”

“ Stoped by Buster's Texas style BBQ assuming it was just a bar but it's a little rustic barn serving cafeteria style bbq. Once you walk into the establishment you'll see a sign which will direct you to the saloon which is to your left in the back or the line to the bbq where you'll order Al La carte style. Don't forget Utensils & trays when you first get in line. Meat choices such a brisket, ribs which are pork or beef. We got end beef brisket & beef ribs. Enjoyed the beef brisket but wasn't a fan of the beef Ribs. We then moved towards the side options & you have your standard bbq sides such as bbq beans, Cole slaw & Mac and cheese to name a few. Was not impressed with the sides due to lack of flavor. Then after that you'll pick out drinks and check out. They serve ciders, wines and beer. At first we didn't know where the saloon was so we didn't check it out. I'd go back and get the brisket but that's about it. They also serve buttery toast with your bbq. ”
